About The Debt Recovery Manual

No call centre. No jargon. No hard sell. Just straight-talking advice from someone who's spent a career recovering debts.

Tim Adams 30YEARS IN THE FIELD
Meet the founder

Hello, I'm Tim Adams

I've spent the best part of 30 years in debt recovery and credit. In that time I've seen the industry from every angle — and watched countless people hand over money to firms promising the earth, only to end up worse off than when they started.

The Debt Recovery Manual is my attempt to fix that. It's the honest, common-sense guide I wish people had before they picked up the phone to a collector. Most of the time, with the right letter and a bit of nerve, you can recover a debt yourself and keep all of it.

I'm not a solicitor and I don't offer legal advice — I offer practical experience, freely. All I ask in return is that you let me know if it works out.

What I believe

The principles behind the manual

Try it yourself first

Before you pay anyone, have a proper go. You'll be amazed how often a firm, fair letter does the job.

Straight, honest answers

Sometimes the right advice is "don't bother". If a debt isn't worth chasing, I'll tell you — no sales pitch.

Plain English, always

Debt recovery is full of jargon designed to make you feel out of your depth. I strip it all away.

The office dogs

Holly & Pickle

Every good operation needs a support team. Mine has four legs each. Holly and Pickle keep me company through the long letters and the longer phone calls — and they're the reason I only ask one thing in return for the free advice.

If the manual helps you recover what you're owed, drop me a note to let me know. And if you're feeling generous, Holly and Pickle are always accepting treats.
